
This month at Trillium Montessori, our young scientists were entranced by the spectacle of dancing molecules in our January science experiment. Each child was deeply involved and witnessed the fascinating effects of temperature on the movement of molecules.
The experiment? With a simple setup of hot and cold water and food coloring, the children explored the speed at which the food coloring spreads in both types of water. Our eagle-eyed learners were quick to note that the food coloring traveled faster in the hot water than the cold. This direct, visual experience offered a perfect introduction to foundational scientific concepts like temperature and molecular movement.
