This month, Trillium Montessori was filled with laughter and excitement as our students worked on a fun and festive STEAM project: “Building Reindeer Rafts.”
Our classrooms came alive with holiday cheer as children explored Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) in a hands-on way. This activity wasn’t just a holiday craft – it reflected our commitment to personalized learning and helping every child grow in their own unique way.
The project encouraged kids to think, plan, and create independently, a key part of what we value at Trillium Montessori. From brainstorming ideas to building their rafts, the children showed creativity and problem-solving skills at every step.
The Reindeer Rafts combined creativity, practical thinking, and holiday fun. Our Montessori-trained teachers supported the children as they worked, offering guidance while letting each student explore their own ideas at their own pace.
Each child’s raft was unique, reflecting their interests and strengths. Some focused on decorating their rafts with colorful details, while others experimented to make their rafts float better. This activity highlighted how we tailor learning to fit each child.
We also kept parents involved, sharing updates, photos, and stories about the project. Families loved seeing their children’s enthusiasm and creativity extend beyond the classroom and into their homes.
Watching the children proudly launch their Reindeer Rafts was a true celebration of their hard work and creativity. This project is just one example of how Trillium Montessori creates a caring, personalized environment that helps children learn, grow, and succeed.
